Nadia at Southwark Cathedral | Virtual Event

June 12, 2021 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm BST

£5

Lutheran pastor, international speaker, New York Times bestselling author, and founder and former pastor of the Church for All Sinners and Saints in Denver, Colorado, Nadia Bolz Weber returns to Southwark Cathedral for an online conversation on how Christians might create a space for compassion, forgiveness, and mercy as we tentatively emerge from the crisis of Covid but continue to live increasingly online. Considering issues around confession, judgement, ideological purity and our increasing tendency to view feelings as facts, Nadia will be speaking with Canon Leanne Roberts about her reflections on how we might bring about healing for ourselves and each other through grace, kindness, and acceptance in an environment that can feel increasingly one-dimensional, remote, and intolerant of diverse opinions.

“… what I need and what I have always needed, are spaces that challenge my assumptions, open my heart and increase my compassion. What I need and what I have always needed are spaces where nuance is allowed; where no one is ever only seen as just the worst thing they have done; where the capacity for human beings to be both horrible and beautiful is never underestimated. Where vapid optimism is never mistaken for actual hope. Where needing grace and a power greater than myself is not seen as a failing, but perhaps as wisdom.” (NBW – https://nadiabolzweber.com)

All are welcome to come and join this space for conversation, questions, and reflection on Saturday, 12 June at 4pm (BST).Sut
